Šibenik

Surrounded by some of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia, Šibenik, 340 km from Trieste (6 hours) and 250 km from Ancona (10 hours). looks out from the Adriatic coast. Mass tourism is yet to arrive here and it is instead the destination for those who love nature and relaxation with the city being a good starting point for excursions to the National Park of Kornati and the Krka waterfalls (which are 20 km away).

Šibenik is not renowned for its nightlife, but rather has a quiet, relaxed rhythm that relates to nature which remains the primary concern of those who choose it for their holidays, or simply as a starting point for getting to know Croatia.

The modern city has developed with accommodation facilities in the coastal area, while the old part is built in the hills with an almost exclusively pedestrianised area of streets and squares dating from the fifteenth and sixteenth century.

One of the most famous monuments in Šibenik is the Cathedral of St. James in the heart of the city, which in the summer hosts musical events, making it the perfect to time to discover it, losing yourself exploring its picturesque corners.

The charm of Dalmatian culture can also be experienced in the coastal villages of Šibenik (Žaborić, Bilo, Grebaštica, Vodice) that you can reach to enjoy dinner and sample the local cuisine. It is also an excellent starting point to visit other nearby destinations such as Zadar, Primošten, Trogir and Split.

Sibenik is ideal for tourists interested in sports and outdoor activities from swimming to diving, and from climbing to hiking.
