Costa Smeralda

Set on the North Eastern Coast of Sardinia, the Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) is so named after the breathtakingly clear sea, which in places takes the shades of the purest of emeralds. The name was given to the area in the 60's when the Prince Karim Aga Khan created the Consortium Costa Smeralda with the aim to provide the world's greatest playground for the international jet set.
